9 DAYS SAFARI STARTING IN MOMBASA
This carefully designed itinerary covers most of the flagship parks in Kenya. While on the 9 days safari starting in Mombasa, you will visit both Tsavo east and Tsavo west national parks. Tsavo east is a vast, semi-arid wilderness. It is populated by elephants caked in the red Tsavo dust, and unique maneless lions. Other unique wildlife include gerenuk and Somali ostrich. Tsavo west is home to the Big Five. Other highlights include lava flows and lush Mzima Springs with its close-up views of hippos. Amboseli national park is next in line. Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the park is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. Large herds of elephants can be viewed up close. Next the safari heads to Hell’s gate national park and Lake Naivasha. Hell’s Gate National Park is known for its wide variety of wildlife and for its scenery. Here you will have a walking safari. Lake Naivasha is perfect for a sunset boat safari, where hippos are just a few meters away. It is also a world-class birdwatching location. From Naivasha, you head to lake Nakuru national park also known as a bird watchers paradise. The endangered rhinos and Rothschild giraffes are also found here. To crown it all, you end the safari at the iconic Masai Mara national reserve. It is often considered the world cup of wildlife watching and one of the best in Africa.

DETAILED ITINERARY OF THE 9 DAYS SAFARI STARTING IN MOMBASA
Day 1: MOMBASA – TSAVO EAST
You will be picked up at your hotel in the morning by our company representative, briefed and thereafter depart for Tsavo East National Park. Arrive in time for lunch. After lunch you will have an afternoon game drives.
Tsavo east national park is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.

Day 2: TSAVO WEST
After breakfast you will head to Tsavo west national park. On entering the park, you will have an enroute game as while heading to your lodge. Arrive in time for lunch. After a short rest you will have a late afternoon game drives.
Tsavo West offers magnificent game viewing and attractions include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler. Other attractions include crystal clear water gushing out of from the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows,

Day 3: AMBOSELI
After breakfast depart Tsavo west and head to Amboseli national park. On arrival you will have an en-route game drive as you proceed to your lodge. Arrive in time for lunch. You will have a short rest after lunch and later embark on an afternoon game drive encountering various wildlife in their natural habitat.
Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust,” and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close.
You will get back to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: FULL-DAY AMBOSELI
You will wake up to amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro if the weather permits. On this day, you will have a morning and afternoon game drive in this wonderful park where Mount Kilimanjaro’s background offers good photographic scenery. It is coupled with animals on the ground, the Big Five, herds of elephants and the prolific birdlife in this African wilderness park. Another exciting place will be the observation point where you will have a bird’s eye view of the expansive park below teaming with wildlife. There will also be an optional Masai village.

Day 5: LAKE NAIVASHA
Depart Amboseli after an early breakfast and drive to Lake Naivasha where you will arrive in time for lunch. On the way, you will have a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley view point. This view is spectacular. After lunch and brief rest, you will be taken to Hell’s Gate National Park where you will have guided nature walk among wild life. You will also have option of boat rides in the lake at an extra cost. The park has a variety of wildlife. Giraffe, eland, hartebeest, buffalo and other small gazelles and antelopes are common in the grassy plains. Also available but rarely seen are lions, cheetahs and leopards. Back to the lodge in the evening.

Day 6: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL RESERVE
Depart Lake Naivasha after breakfast and head to Lake Nakuru national park. On arrival at lake Nakuru national park, you will enter and have en route game drive as you head to you lodge located inside the park. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. After a short period of relaxation you continue with game drives in Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is famous for the flocks of the greater and lesser Flamingo that gather around the lake numbering around 2 million, which turns the lake pink. This has given the lake a nickname; the pink lake. The endangered rhino and Rothschild giraffe are found in the park. Other animals found in the park include African buffalos, zebras, impalas, olive baboons, velvet monkeys, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, hippopotamus among many others.

Day 7: MAASAI MARA
You will leave Lake Nakuru in the morning after breakfast and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch and a brief rest, you will embark on your afternoon game drive feasting your eyes on the marvels that Masai Mara has to offer. All members of the big 5 are found in this reserve. Other animals seen here include cheetah, serval, hyena, bat-eared foxes, black-backed and side-striped jackals, hippo, crocodile, baboons, warthog, topi, eland among others. Different bird species are also found. They include eagles, vultures, ostriches, storks, little grebe, pelicans, cormorants & darter. In the evening you will retire to your lodge, have dinner and fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.

Day 8: MAASAI MARA FULL DAY
After breakfast, you’ll leave the lodge carrying packed lunches and embark on a full-day game viewing in Africa’s finest park. A balloon safari can be arranged on this day early in the morning. You will drive to various places in the expansive Masai Mara National Reserve. In the late afternoon, you will have the option of visiting a Maasai cultural village. Return to the lodge later in the evening and after dinner, you can unwind by a crackling bonfire serenaded by enchanting Masai melodies or retreat to your cosy room for a restful night’s.

Day 9: MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI
After breakfast you will depart the lodge and drive leisurely towards Nairobi. On arrival you will be taken to the famous carnivore for a complimentary lunch. You will later be dropped at your city hotel or the airport according to your departure timings.
