Safari Highlights

Day 1: Pick up from Nairobi and head to Ol Pejeta Conservancy with a stop at the Equator.

Day 2: Spend a full day at Ol Pejeta Conservancy with optional activities such as guided nature walks, camel riding and a night game drive.

Day 3: Leave Ol Pejeta and head to Aberdare National Park.

Day 4: Spend a full day in Aberdare National Park.

Day 5: Check out and head to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 6: Spend a full day in Lake National Park

Day 7: Leave Lake Nakuru and head to Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Day 8: Spend a full day game viewing in Masai Mara.

Day 9: Leave Mara and head to Lake Naivasha where you’ll tour Hell’s Gate National Park.

Sweetwaters Serena Camp

Perched within the 110,000-acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which features a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any of Kenya’s national parks, Sweetwaters Serena Camp is one of the most exclusive tented safari camps in the country. It is located on the Laikipia plains, 17 kilometers from Nanyuki and 217 kilometers from Nairobi. Transfers by road from Nairobi take approximately three to four hours; Nanyuki airstrip is 17 kilometers from the camp.

The Ark Lodge

Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, iconic and yes, quirky. The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark comprises of three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. So that you don’t miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole. The Ark has four viewing areas for observing the ever-present animal activity.

Aberdare Country Club

The Aberdare Country Club is nestled on a slope of Mweiga Hill in the Aberdare Highlands, part of the Great Rift Valley. This captivating site was the homestead of an English couple that decided to settle in Kenya. Almost a half century later, their home, “The Steep”, was renamed the Aberdare Country Club and opened for guests. Considered a heritage property in Kenya, The Aberdare Country Club has retained the charm of a private home with the simple comforts of a country inn.

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge

Sarova Mara Game Camp

Sarova Mara Game Camp is ideally located in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve and offers an authentic African safari experience amid the stunning savannah landscape. The luxury safari camp offers a selection of 20 Club Tents, 52 Deluxe Tents and 3 spacious 2-bedroom Family Tents, all thoughtfully designed with en-suite facilities. Some Club Tents offer a spectacular view of the game park.

  1. OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY. Ol Pejeta conservancy is the largest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa. 
  2. ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK. Aberdare National Park is home to a great number of wildlife that would serve to interest any traveler. 
  3. LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK. Lake Nakuru national park has over 400 bird species making it a bird watchers paradise. The park is famous for the flocks of the greater and lesser Flamingo that gather around the lake numbering around 2 million, which turns the lake pink. 
  4. MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE  No where in Africa is wildlife more abundant like in the Masai Mara national reserve. It is one of the best destinations in the world for wildlife viewing in their natural environment.
  5. LAKE NAIVASHA Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake found in the Great Rift Valley.
  6. HELLS GATE NATIONAL PARK. The park is a remarkable quarter of the Great Rift Valley with Spectacular sceneries.

 

 Safari Itinerary

Day 1. Ol Pejeta conservancy

Depart Nairobi in the morning and be driven to Ol Pejeta conservancy via Thika road superhighway. You may have an optional brief stop at Nanyuki town equator marker. Here you can take photos and be shown how the north and south poles have magnetic power and how its visible with the water experience (Coriolis effect). Arrive in time for lunch. After short rest you will proceed for a late afternoon game drive round this fascinating park returning to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 . Ol Pejeta conservancy

Spend a full day at this private sanctuary with morning and afternoon game drives. Other optional activities include guided nature walks, camel riding and a night game drive. All meals and overnight at Sweetwater’s Tented Camp. Overlooking a floodlit waterhole, the camp offers visitors the opportunity to watch and photograph animals in their natural habitat.

Day 3: The Ark, Aberdare National Park
After breakfast depart Ol Pejeta for Aberdare Country Club arriving in time for lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to sister lodge The Ark for an overnight of floodlit game viewing. Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, this unique game lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of wildlife – elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo or giant forest hog.

Day 4. Aberdare National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Aberdare country club where you will have game drives. You might have a chance to sight the rare Bongo and African gold cat. Bongo is the largest forest antelope and one of the endangered species in Kenya. Other breathtaking place to visit within the park is Chania Waterfalls and Karuru waterfall. The beauty of the park is further increased by the ridges and river valleys which offer mountain photographers with opportunity like no other. Other activities provided at extra cost include nature work, birding , bush culinary experience etc.

DAY 5. Lake Nakuru

After breakfast drive down to the floor of The Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, making a brief stop at Thomson Falls, and arriving Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch and short rest you will have an afternoon game drive in the park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx. 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game call this park home including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.

DAY 6. Lake Nakuru

During this day you will have morning and afternoon game drives in this wonderful park full of wildlife. Other attractions include baboon cliff, lion hill and Makalia water falls. The park also has different plant species include the biggest euphorbia forest in Africa, yellow acacia, shrubs etc. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay. Other activities provide at an extra cost include spa, pool activities like water pole, drawing and coloring, Badminton, soccer, board games etc.

Day 7. Nakuru- Maasai Mara

Depart Lake Nakuru in the morning and drive to Masai Mara game reserve. At around midday, you will enter Masai Mara game reserve and have a short en route game drive as you head to your lodge inside the reserve. After lunch and a short rest, embark on your afternoon game drive. In the evening you will retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8. Maasai Mara

After a scrumptious breakfast you will head out for a full day of game viewing in Masai Mara with packed lunch. A balloon safari can also be arranged on this day at an extra cost. After viewing of wildlife, you have an option of visiting a cultural Masai village as you drive back to the camp. In the evening enjoy sun tinged sundowner.

Activities available at the lodge at an extra cost include ozone kids club meant for children, nature walks etc.

MEAL Sarova Mara

Day 9. Maasai- Lake Naivasha

After breakfast you will be driven to Naivasha. On arrival, head to Hell’s Gate National Park where you will have a guided walking safari among the wildlife. You can also hike or cycle in the park. You will head to the lodge in the afternoon for lunch. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure by the lake with options of boat rides at extra cost.

Day 10. Nairobi
Depart Lake Naivasha after breakfast, driving back to Nairobi. Dropped at your hotel or transfer to the airport for onward flight home.
